VOIDCORP is an action, indie, and adventure game on PC that places players in the role of contract miners sent into an endless voxel cave world to extract ore and push deeper with each run.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on breaking rock with real physics simulation. Every strike or explosion sends fragments tumbling according to the cave's structure, creating dynamic collapses that can reveal new paths or bury resources. Players gather ore from the debris, transport it to a cage for extraction, and spend earnings on upgrades that improve digging efficiency or survival odds before descending further.
Tools shape how miners interact with the environment. The physgun, smelter, and magnet allow precise ripping, melting, and pulling of rock sections. When direct methods fall short, TNT, sticky bombs, and rockets deliver heavier force. Lighting becomes essential in deeper sections, where a flamethrower, flares, and lamps help manage threats that emerge from the dark. Support equipment includes a tracked carrier for moving loads and a cage vacuum that assists with rapid ore collection. The company store sells these items along with dig permits that gate access to new depths.
Black holes suspended in larger caverns pull in loose rubble, ore, and any miners who drift too close. Spider nests and shriekers add layers of danger in shadowed areas, while distant rumbling signals something larger moving through the rock layers. Timing the cage departure is critical, as missing it strands a miner alone without support.
Game Modes
VOIDCORP supports solo play for independent runs focused on personal progression and resource management. Co-op sessions allow up to four players to divide tasks, with one focusing on excavation, another on hauling, and others handling explosives or lighting. Coordination matters because physics effects from blasts can affect teammates standing nearby.
Exploration and Hazards
The voxel cave system expands without fixed boundaries, encouraging repeated descents that test upgraded equipment against increasingly unstable terrain. Hazards range from gravitational anomalies to nesting creatures that activate when disturbed. Careful positioning and tool choice determine whether a blast clears a path or triggers a chain reaction that endangers the team.
Is It Worth Playing?
VOIDCORP appeals to players who enjoy physics-based destruction combined with resource gathering and light co-op coordination. The endless cave structure and real-time collapse mechanics reward experimentation with tools and positioning. Those who prefer methodical solo mining or small-group teamwork in dark, hazardous spaces will find the systems align directly with that preference. Recent updates have focused on stability and progression polish, keeping the core loop intact for returning players.
