Humanity broke out of Sol, fought two long wars against her own runaway daughters, and buried her dead by the millions. Earth drew inward, her churches became her government. Mars, Earth’s first colony and her heaviest industrial base, refused to follow. In 2188 Mars broke from the Alliance and named itself after the insult Earth used to dismiss it: the Stepping Stone. The war that followed is the war you fly in.
