Space Golf is a casual indie simulation sports title that puts a gravitational twist on traditional mini golf. Players aim, pull back, and release shots that curve around planets, skim moons, and navigate cosmic obstacles on their way to the cup.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on real orbital physics where every planet exerts gravity on the ball. Shots bend naturally as the ball interacts with planetary pulls, bounces off surfaces, and rolls across varied terrains. Players select from four distinct clubs: the driver and iron for launching between planets, the wedge for popping over hills, and the putter for ground rolls. Each club changes shot behavior, making club choice a key part of solving each hole. Additional mechanics include solar wind streams, explosive mines, black holes, pinball bumpers, asteroid belts, pulsars, antigravity repulsors, speed boosters, and nebulae that slow the ball. The game features 12 themed courses with 216 total holes, progressing from simpler layouts like Green Orbit to more complex mixes in the Grand Tour.
Customization adds personal flair through unlockable ball colors, patterns, and trails earned via course completion and achievements. Controls support gamepad, keyboard, mouse, or touch input, with full controller compatibility across the experience.
Game Modes
Single-player sessions allow focused practice on any of the 216 holes across the 12 courses. Local hot-seat multiplayer supports up to four players sharing one screen, with each participant using their own ball that does not collide with others. This setup works well for casual gatherings and accommodates mixed input methods among players.
Progression and Customization
Forty-two achievements track progress and reward completion of courses and challenges. Unlocking new ball styles encourages repeated play as players experiment with different visual options while refining their orbital shot techniques. The structure introduces mechanics gradually, with each course building on prior knowledge through layered combinations of gravity effects and obstacles.
Is It Worth Playing?
Space Golf suits players who enjoy physics-driven puzzle elements in a relaxed sports format. Its combination of mini golf fundamentals with orbital mechanics creates distinctive shot planning that rewards observation and adjustment. Local multiplayer adds social appeal for groups seeking quick, shared sessions without online requirements. As an upcoming release on PC with broad input support and multiple languages, it targets casual and simulation fans looking for approachable yet mechanically rich short play sessions. The verified feature set positions it as a solid choice for those drawn to gravity-based challenges over standard putting games.
