Sheeptator is a single-player strategy simulation game that blends factory building with sheep management on PC. Players act as the Hoof to a Supreme Leader who happens to be a ram in full military regalia, directing a growing flock through conveyor belts, processing machines, and expanding facilities.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on directing sheep through a network of rooms connected by doors and conveyor belts. Sheep enter rooms such as the Breeding Pen to produce lambs or the Feeding Lot to reach full capacity. Opening a door above a moving belt sends the flock along the line to machines or markets. Players place Shearing Machines to process fluffy sheep into wool, Milking Machines for ewes, and a Slaughterhouse that converts animals into mutton. Goods and live sheep then travel to Markets for automatic sales.
Expansion involves upgrading rooms to larger versions like the Lamb Megadome or Hunger Annihilator, swapping basic Rubber Belts for stronger Steel and Mega Belts, and installing Smart Doors that filter sheep by traits such as Hungry, Fed, Ready, Fluffy, Milky, Rams, or Ewes. Processing chains turn raw materials into Clean Wool, Yarn, Fabric, Clothing, Luxury Goods, and Cheese. Each building displays input and output details, while a Factory report tracks machine performance.
Sheep carry individual names, moods, levels, and inheritable traits. Rare variants appear with Golden, Rainbow, Three-Eyed, or Two-Headed features. Genetics research adds a Gene Lab with SAMPLE mode for collecting DNA, SPLICE mode for creating new strains, and CHAOS mode for random outcomes. Thirteen strains exist, including six secret hybrids bred from pairs in the same pen. Rare goods from these strains support higher-level building upgrades up to Level 5.
Game Modes
The Gene Lab operates in three distinct modes. SAMPLE mode collects DNA from every sheep that passes through. SPLICE mode produces specific new strains with unique properties, such as Silkfleece for silk, Creamers for cream, Jumbo sheep for extra mutton, Turbo Sheep, Teacup Sheep, Golden Fleece, and Glowfleece. CHAOS mode uses one unit of DNA for unpredictable results. Additional breeding upgrades like Love Songs and Twin Genes improve outcomes, and secret hybrid strains emerge from natural breeding between different types.
Decision events introduce short follow-up stories alongside occasional threats such as wolves at the gate or machine accidents. The Supreme Leader delivers a tutorial through successive decrees that unlock buildings, followed by reward-based decrees for further progress. The research tree includes 38 projects that culminate in advanced structures and a rocket project aimed at the moon.
Progression and Features
Early play focuses on basic belt routing and machine placement with a small flock. As breeding continues, the factory scales with more rooms, upgraded belts, and automated sorting. Pixel art renders the growing complex, appearing simple from a distance yet detailed on closer inspection. The Leader reacts vocally to issues like overcrowding or missing belts, maintaining oversight throughout.
Advanced stages feature Level 5 buildings as neon skyscrapers and reactors, including an Industrial Wool Plant that processes large volumes. Rare goods from specialized sheep strains enable these upgrades. The full feature set supports a complete single-player campaign without multiplayer elements.
Is It Worth Playing?
Sheeptator suits players who enjoy deliberate factory management and incremental growth in a single-player setting. The combination of belt routing, genetic experimentation, and named sheep with traits creates a focused simulation experience. With the game listed as coming soon and no reviews available yet, interested players can follow its development for a unique take on automation and resource chains once released.
