companions, no reputation and no friends. Everything else you earn on the road.
Build your band
- 10 playable races - humans, elves, orcs, dwarves, undead, goblins, ratmen, minotaurs, ogres and demons - each with its own classes.
- Races share a long history, and they bring it into your squad. Who you recruit affects everyone else's mood, and some pairings slowly poison it.
- Every fighter judges your decisions. Let loyalty fall too low and they leave. That includes your own hero.
- Recruits are rare and every one of them counts. Traits, equipment and learned abilities turn each squad into a build of its own.
Fight on the hex grid
- Turn-based tactical battles with an initiative-based turn order.
- Melee fighters hold the front line while archers, mages and healers work from behind them.
- Watch energy and morale, not just health. A broken squad loses long before its last fighter falls.
A world that doesn't wait for you
- A new map every game: four rival states, wild factions, bandit gangs and free lands in between.
- Every faction remembers what you did. Reputation and fame open doors in one place and close them in another.
- Explore towns and villages building by building: shops, healers, recruiters and people who need help.
- The wilds are full of events with real choices and real costs. Helping someone doesn't always turn out the way you meant.
Intrigue around the thrones
- Instead of a single main storyline there are several, each growing out of the politics of its own state.
- Lords and rulers only trust you with their affairs once you've earned it. Whose side you take, and what comes of it, is up to you.
From nobody to legend
- Fifty levels of growth, passive abilities taught by teachers across the world, and active abilities that depend on your weapon.
- Artifacts with hidden properties waiting to be identified, legendary items, potions and scrolls.
- Victory is a milestone, not the end: you can keep playing after it.
Play by your own rules
- Starting resources, enemy strength and event rewards are tuned separately.
- Ironman mode for those who want every decision to be final.
