Gameplay

Above four Volume, each additional point raises new Static health by 2.5 percent and speed by 0.8 percent, while the run itself rewards extra Resonance based on average Volume.
Thirteen varieties of Static populate the pit alongside stage Monitors that act as indestructible terrain. Examples include the Warden, which resists damage from below and requires hits from above or the sides; the Phasm, which fades for two beats out of every six and lets orbs pass through during that window; the Tuner, which heals nearby Static by 15 percent of their maximum health every two bars; the Baffle, which shields itself and the eight surrounding cells with a barrier equal to its own health that regenerates after two bars; the Slapback, which fires a bullet back at the player on orb contact at most once every two beats; and Monitors themselves, which deflect orbs and block enemy bullets until they reach the red line without costing Amp.
Ten base orbs each feature three upgrade levels, covering Pulse, Ember, Frost, Volt, Venom, Prism, Bass, Phantom, Seeker, and Echo. Ember applies burns, Frost freezes targets, Volt chains lightning, and Bass explodes on impact. At maximum level, any two orbs can fuse into one of eleven combinations, such as Shatterflame from Ember and Frost or Hydra from Pulse and Prism. Sixteen pedals provide global boosts to all held orbs, including Overdrive for 12 percent more damage, Tremolo for 12 percent faster fire rate, and Looper for an extra free orb on every seventh shot. Certain orbs like Bass, Echo, Volt, and Frost contribute their own musical layers to the soundtrack while equipped.
Game Modes
Each run follows one of three tracks, each tied to its own song at a distinct tempo: Neon Shallows at 132 BPM, Chrome Cathedral at 140 BPM, or The Silent Core at 150 BPM. Six bosses appear across the tracks, with final bosses including The Metronome whose swinging weight deflects orbs, Feedback which requires breaking a speaker ring to reach the core, and The Hush which periodically silences orbs. Before each boss the drums and bass drop out for two bars, allowing the boss to enter on the downbeat. Clearing a track at one of its six Tempo levels unlocks the next harder version.
The Daily Setlist delivers one seeded run each day using the same track, conductor, and one of eight modifiers shared across all players, complete with daily Steam leaderboards. After defeating the final boss, players can continue into the Encore for endless waves that each add one Volume, with a mini boss returning every fourth wave. Every completed run records automatically, allowing replays at up to four times speed or export to a file for later viewing.
Progression Systems
Between runs Resonance earned from completed tracks can be spent in the Mixer across 18 meters totaling 104 segments that upgrade attributes such as Damage, Fire rate, and Max Amp. Filling an entire meter activates a peak with an additional effect. Bosses award Gold Notes used to purchase eight Tapes, each altering a core run rule; one example is Shred, which makes later hits always crit once an orb lands eight hits before returning. Players begin with one Tape slot, and clearing Chrome Cathedral plus The Silent Core unlocks a second and third slot respectively. Six conductors each provide a starting orb and a unique perk, with every conductor, orb, and pedal available from the first run onward.
Controls support both mouse and keyboard or a full controller layout in menus and gameplay. Options include auto aim, a trajectory preview line, separate volume sliders for music, sound effects, and orb hit notes, plus toggles for screen shake and screen flashes.
