Real Zombie Survivors is a 2D post-apocalyptic survivors-like and top-down arena shooter that combines fast-paced action with procedural world generation. Gameplay
The core loop centers on surviving waves of enemies in generated city environments. The engine incorporates real OpenStreetMap data to create playable maps with buildings, streets, sidewalks, water bodies, and street names. These elements translate into physical obstacles, light occlusion, and navigation paths that shape combat. Narrow alleys and intersections, along with abandoned vehicles and rubble, require constant movement and positioning to channel hordes effectively.
Five character classes provide distinct roles. The Soldier focuses on high damage output with firearms and activates Combat Fury for temporary boosts to speed and fire rate. The Medic supports the team by placing a healing circle with a medkit. The Bodyguard serves as a frontline tank with extra health, damage reduction, and a knockback shockwave.
