Ghost Activity is an indie simulation and adventure game built around paranormal investigation on PC. Players take on the role of a journalist documenting supernatural events through a bodycam lens in realistic settings powered by Unreal Engine 5.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on entering haunted sites, recording evidence of ghostly activity, and evading hostile entities. Movement and observation happen from a first-person bodycam view that emphasizes shaky footage, limited visibility, and audio cues to heighten tension. Evidence collection involves capturing footage and data points while managing encounters that can turn unpredictable at any moment. Environments draw from real-world locations rendered with detailed lighting and atmospheric effects to support the horror focus.
Survival depends on awareness and quick decisions rather than combat. The bodycam perspective keeps the player grounded in the journalist's experience, where every sound or shadow might signal an approaching threat. Jumpscares form a regular part of the encounters, and the design aims to create a persistent sense of being observed.
Game Modes
Play revolves around single-player investigations of individual haunted locations. Each session tasks the player with gathering sufficient paranormal evidence before exiting safely. Leaderboards track performance across these investigations, allowing comparison of evidence quality and survival success against other players. No separate multiplayer sessions or co-operative modes appear in the available details.
Progression ties directly to repeated runs on the same or new sites, with the goal of improving leaderboard placement through better evidence capture and fewer close calls with entities.
Visuals and Atmosphere
Unreal Engine 5 powers the environments, delivering high-fidelity textures, dynamic lighting, and sound design that reinforces the unsettling mood. Locations feel grounded because they reference actual places, which adds a layer of unease to the exploration. The bodycam filter affects how players perceive the world, with visual noise and restricted field of view contributing to the overall dread.
Audio plays an equal role, using unsettling ambient sounds and entity cues to maintain pressure even when nothing visible occurs on screen. This combination supports the listed emphasis on anxiety and the constant feeling of being watched.
Is It Worth Playing?
Ghost Activity targets fans of simulation-style horror who enjoy methodical evidence gathering and atmospheric tension over action or combat. The single-player focus with leaderboard competition offers a clear loop for repeated attempts and personal improvement. As an upcoming title scheduled for Q1 2027, it currently has no player reviews or post-launch updates available. Those drawn to bodycam perspectives and realistic haunted settings may find the verified features align with their preferences once released. Availability will be through standard PC digital storefronts at launch.
