Cleaner Densetsu DX is a single-player 2D pixel-art RPG and life simulation game set on PC. Players step into the role of Daiyu Tanaka, a man whose ordinary existence unravels after a single act of intervention leads to unemployment and a new job as a cleaner. The title blends daily routine management with branching narratives and intimate encounters, all rendered in detailed side-scrolling pixel art that emphasizes exploration and character interactions.
Gameplay
The core loop revolves around managing a daily schedule as a part-time cleaner. Each day involves commuting by train, performing cleaning tasks that require timing and positioning to collect different types of waste for payment, and returning home while balancing a stress meter tied to personal urges. Money earned purchases everyday items, clothing, and tools from shops or gacha machines, which in turn open new interaction options with NPCs. Progression depends on raising relationship levels through repeated conversations and specific actions, leading to more personal scenes in locations such as parks, public facilities, and private rooms. Side activities include shopping for outfits and accessories that alter encounter possibilities, as well as light combat-style mini-games when confronting certain characters. The DX edition adds full Japanese voice acting across dialogue and scenes, enhancing immersion during story beats and intimate moments.
Game Modes
Cleaner Densetsu DX operates entirely as a single-player experience without separate multiplayer or competitive modes. The primary structure centers on two complete main storylines focused on Rinko and Saori, each featuring multiple endings determined by choices in key encounters and stress management. Players can also pursue extensive side content with additional NPCs, unlocking varied intimate sequences and relationship developments independent of the central plots. Daily simulation elements remain consistent across all paths, allowing free exploration of the map, item collection, and routine tasks while advancing whichever storyline the player prioritizes at the moment. This setup encourages replaying to experience different branches and collect additional scenes.
Story and Characters
The narrative follows Daiyu Tanaka after his life changes dramatically due to past events. He encounters Nonoka Yamamura, an elegant young woman whose presence pulls him toward new possibilities. Supporting characters include the convenience store clerk who shows early kindness, the idol Saori who maintains a composed public image, and the detective Rinko who operates undercover in the red-light district. Each character has distinct personality traits and backstories that influence dialogue options and scene outcomes. The DX version expands these elements with dedicated story arcs for Rinko and Saori, plus additional side NPCs available for closer interactions. Story advancement ties directly into gameplay systems, where completing work shifts and managing resources unlocks new dialogue and events.
Is It Worth Playing?
Cleaner Densetsu DX targets players interested in adult-oriented life simulations that combine pixel-art presentation with branching narratives and explicit content. The game rewards careful resource management and exploration, with the DX edition providing voiced lines and expanded storylines that deepen engagement with the main characters. Reception highlights the quality of the pixel art and animation in intimate scenes, though some note the daily routine can feel repetitive without using available assistance features like money mode for faster progression. It suits those comfortable with mature themes involving moral ambiguity and multiple endings. Availability on PC through the Steam platform makes it accessible for those seeking this specific style of simulation RPG. If the combination of routine management, character-driven stories, and pixel-art visuals appeals, the title offers substantial content through its dual main paths and side interactions.
