One concrete city. One cube. No way out.
BRUTALCORE is a fast, old-school first-person shooter set inside a colossal cube. Each of its six inner faces holds a different brutalist city: monolithic towers, stepped ziggurats, inverted pyramids, megablocks and bunkers, all being swallowed by wild nature. At the centre hangs the CORE, a blazing sphere that lights the whole cube. It is also its deadliest threat.
Built for multiplayer
BRUTALCORE was designed from the ground up to be played with other people. Up to 16 players fight across all six faces at once: on the streets, from the rooftops, along the walls and through the air. Create public or private lobbies, invite friends with a 5-letter code or jump into a game from the public list. There are six online modes:
- Deathmatch: everyone against everyone.
- Team Deathmatch: red against blue.
- King of the Hill: hold the moving zone alone to score.
- Crystal Race: grab crystals, and drop half when you die.
- Capture the Flag: two bases on two different faces of the cube.
- Juggernaut: one heavily armoured player against everyone else.
Gravity that changes everything
Gravity always pulls you toward the nearest face. Run toward an edge and the world tilts: the wall becomes your floor. Jump from a rooftop onto the side of a tower in another city. Launch pads fire you across the cube to the opposite face, and catapults hurl you over the streets. Flank your rivals from angles they'll never expect.
Survive the CORE
Twice a day the CORE overloads. An alarm sounds, the cube floods with light, and a shockwave sweeps through everything. If you're caught in the open, you die. Cover only softens the blast, and you're safe only deep inside a building. Use it to wipe out your rivals, and never get too close to the CORE itself.
A huge arsenal
Pistol, magnum revolver, shotgun, double-barrel shotgun, SMG, sniper rifle, minigun, flamethrower, plasma rifle, railgun, grenade launcher, rocket launcher (rocket jumps included!) and proximity mines. There are also some stranger toys: a crystal cannon that fires your own money, and a gravity rifle that turns your enemies' gravity against them. Every weapon can be upgraded.
Gadgets and equipment
Grappling hook, jetpack, glider, anti-gravity boots, energy shield, optical camouflage, thermal visor, teleporter beacon, scout drone, deployable turret, EMP and smoke grenades, threat scanner and more, all at hand on the gadget wheel.
Crystals and shops
Collect the crystals scattered around the cities and spend them at the shop and bank terminals on weapons, ammo, upgrades and gear.
Choose your look
Play BRUTALCORE however you like. Choose from a wide range of visual styles: a classic CRT monitor, a worn VHS tape, an arcade cabinet, night vision, a thermal camera, a security camera, film noir, sepia film, blood moon, Game Boy-style and gold, green or black-and-white pixel art palettes, cyberpunk neon and many more. Every style changes the whole mood of the cube, and you can preview it live before you start.
Solo play too
Hone your skills in four solo modes, against Concrete Troopers, Ivy Hounds, Monolith Brutes and Watcher Drones:
- Waves: survive endless waves of enemies.
- Purge: clear out every enemy in the cube.
- Relic Hunt: recover one relic from each face.
- Explore: no enemies at all.
A different cube every game
Set the cube size (from 50 m to 1 km), building height, density, vegetation, atmosphere and seed. There are six urban layouts, dozens of building types, enterable towers with stairs and skywalks, abandoned cars, weathered Cyrillic signs and seventeen tree species swaying in the wind.
Living atmosphere
A full day/night cycle with an adjustable length, volumetric fog with light shafts from the CORE, and adaptive music that rises with the combat.
And also…
A sonar radar, a minimap of the cube, achievements and personal statistics. Controls are fully configurable, with full gamepad support.
