The solution: the Rheingold!
If you wanted to be competitive and flush the money into your own country, you had to think ahead: in 1928, the German Reichsbahn therefore acquired some Pullmann coaches to build a very special train. The Rheingold quickly developed into a real competitor for the luxury trains of the CIWL. Consisting of first class, second class and baggage cars, this train actually offered a level of luxury that was in no way inferior to the famous Orient Express. High-quality kitchens guaranteed that the guests' physical well-being was never neglected.
3DZUG is nostalgic and brings the luxurious Rheingold back to the track. All of the carriages have been realised in detail, both inside and out: all of the carriages have what are probably the most elaborate passenger views ever depicted and are completely walk-in. Whether you want to enter the first class, the kitchen, the second class or the luggage and customs area - for the first time in almost 100 years it is now possible to experience this train in its original condition. Der Rheingold entwickelte sich schnell zu einer echten Konkurrenz für die Luxuszüge der CIWL. Bestehend aus erster Klasse, zweiter Klasse und Gepäckwagen bot dieser Zug tatsächlich einen Luxus, der dem berühmten Orient-Express in nichts nachstand. Hochwertige Küchen garantierten, dass auch das leibliche Wohl der Gäste niemals zu kurz kam.
