Cubiciousflage is an indie casual multiplayer game centered on cube-based building, vertical climbing, and disguise mechanics. Players construct props and structures in real time while navigating competitive matches that blend creative freedom with survival and hunting elements.
Gameplay
The core loop revolves around the Cube Builder system. Participants place, erase, paint, and shape blocks using tools such as box, sphere, line, fill, and mirror symmetry along with a 256-color palette. Props require a minimum of 1000 occupied voxels to qualify for matches. Building occurs both before and during play, allowing on-the-fly adjustments to silhouettes or paths through gaps.
Destruction plays a direct role in combat. Hits remove individual blocks from a prop rather than depleting a separate health pool, making damage visible and permanent for the duration of a match. Hitboxes update instantly to reflect the altered shape. Players can also edit their own prop mid-match to adapt to changing conditions.
Additional systems include material management during ascents, mining ore deposits for resources, and collecting pickups that provide weapons or skills. Ranks progress from Bronze to Master through earned Gold Cubes, unlocking further cosmetic and material options in the shop.
Game Modes
Climb mode challenges players to ascend a procedural 10-tier spiral tower of floating islands generated from unique seeds. Temporary cubes of types such as Block, Metal, and Energy are placed mid-air to form bridges and ledges. Safehouse lighthouses at the end of each floor serve as checkpoints for resupply.
Hunters versus Props matches alternate between a hiding phase and a hunting phase. Props disguise themselves or reposition within the environment while hunters search for and damage suspicious objects. Voice chat and text chat support coordination during these rounds.
A separate Level Editor lets users place objects, arrange layouts, and set spawn points. Custom maps can be saved and hosted, with eight themed maps available by default including City, Cemetery, Junkyard, Alien World, Factory, Temple, Mansion, and Sea Port.
Character Customization and Progression
The builder character serves as the central avatar for construction tasks. Premium skins from the CubeKin collection expand visual options across rarity tiers. These include subtle recolors and alternate silhouettes along with exclusive surface techniques that alter presentation during matches.
Skins apply instantly to existing builds without requiring reconstruction. Progression ties into match performance, where Gold Cubes fund shop purchases for additional object kits, building materials, and further character or weapon options.
Is It Worth Playing?
Cubiciousflage suits players who enjoy creative building combined with competitive multiplayer elements in a lightweight casual package. The emphasis on voxel manipulation, procedural climbing, and prop disguise offers distinct sessions that reward quick thinking and adaptation. With its recent release, the game features active development potential through future updates, though player reception data remains limited at this stage. Those interested in sandbox-style matches with destructible environments and custom map support will find the systems align closely with that preference.
